An introduction to sailing aboard a Laser Stratos. A great way to try the sport together before committing to a course.

RYA Level 1 — Start Sailing

Learn rigging, launching, sailing in different directions and capsize recovery, with short sessions on weather and tides. Build the basics for sailing under supervision in light winds.

RYA Level 2 — Basic Skills

Develop boat handling, personal safety and decision-making. Practise the core sailing skills and build confidence before sailing more independently in suitable conditions.

RYA Level 3 — Better Sailing

Consolidate Levels 1 and 2, improve manoeuvres and explore skills from the advanced modules. Content is adapted to the conditions and your experience.

YOUTH HOLIDAY SAILING

Four half-days of learning, confidence and fun, following the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme. Young sailors are grouped by ability and work towards skills signed off by their instructor.

  • Four half-days: £240 per person
  • Mornings 09:00–12:00 or afternoons 13:00–16:00
  • Recommended starting age: seven
  • Equipment included; RYA logbook £10 extra

What is included in the sailing course price?+
Equipment is included. RYA logbooks are an additional £10 as a one-off purchase. See the pricing page for adult and under-16 rates.
Which RYA level should I choose?+
Level 1 introduces the basics; Level 2 develops core skills; Level 3 builds confidence and introduces advanced techniques. Tell us about your experience before booking.
Are courses weather dependent?+
Sailing plans depend on wind, tide and conditions. Contact the team to discuss your course arrangements, clothing and the forecast before arrival.
