Naomi & Frazer have been running Sail Exmouth for over 8 years

“Over the past 15 years we have participated in and instructed a variety of water sports both at home and abroad. Having grown up in Exmouth it’s hard not to appreciate how ideal this location is for sailing, we are exceptionally lucky to have the estuary right on our doorstep”

Our passion and experience will ensure that you have a safe, exciting and challenging time on the water which ever course you choose. At Sailexmouth we provide RYA accredited tuition and courses in:

As an RYA approved centre our instructors are hand picked, highly qualified and experienced individuals. Ensuring you receive excellent tuition and safety on the water.

Our centre operates from March until November *All equipment provided*

Frazer & Naomi here;

How bizarre is this! from absolute calm to COVID-19 lockdown

We appreciate these are unprecedented and unpredictable times, for those who have paid a deposit(s) we will (as soon as we know when we are opening) reschedule your course(s) ASAP with direct emails or calls

We are assuming Easter youth sailing may be off the cards so will offer May half term and summer holiday week alternatives

This pandemic may change the way youth sailing is ran this year too, we may only be able to offer the Tuesdays and then reduced Saturdays (when we are no longer in quarantine) in order to accommodate those who have had their Powerboat lessons postponed

We hope everyone will understand as we try to overcome this strange and uncertain period

Whilst “time and tide wait for no one” rest assured we will wait for all this to blow over and ensure you get on a course

Thank you for being understanding

Exeter Port Authority Local Notice to Mariners
No. 03/2020 26th March 2020
COVID – 19 Notice
Following on from latest government information we have all had to undertake steps to maintain our health and safety. We must detail what we feel constitutes a necessary journey or an essential waterborne activity in the River Exe and Exeter Canal.
Commercial activity (commercial fishing, for example) or isolated residents moving through Harbour property for necessary purposes such as shopping, obtaining medical necessities, we consider essential.
It is not appropriate at present for the Harbour/estuary estate to be used for leisure or exercise, despite the current fair weather. Using the Harbour/estuary for leisure purposes at this time could put you and our reduced staff at risk - as well as created avoidable pressure on the Emergency Services, should you require assistance. We will report anyone we feel are not engaged in necessary or essential activity within the River Exe or Exeter Canal.
If you believe your planned activity is necessary AND essential please contact by email so we can discuss your plans.
It is not our intention to make anyone’s life more difficult than it already is, but we also do not want to increase the unnecessary risk to our staff, our other customers and the residents around the river and canal.
We hope life will return to normal as soon as possible and we would like to see you all return fit and well.
Stay home, protect the NHS, save lives.
