As COVID-19 lockdown restrictions begin to be lifted in various locations around the world, the RYA have put together guidnace to assist recognised training centres (such as Sailexmouth)when considering, if, when and how RYA traing activities should take place.

Centres should only consider reopening if and when they are ready an able to facilitate safe activity, with appropriate social distancing measures, hygiene procedures and risk management practices

Our bigest hurdle at this current time is the "social disstance" measure of 2 meters, this is preventing all RYA centers from offering training courses.

Naomi & I like many others in the industry are trying to plan for the easing of these measure and how we may have to adapt our course structures to offer safe and clean courses for customers

We know that July 4th marks the reopening of various other close quater business (Pubs, restuarants, cinema and gyms) so we hope that our summer sailing may be able to proceed however group numbers will be reduced and areas such as changing rooms may be restricted.

We have a unique set up in terms of our sailing dinghy's all being located up river, and therefore the need to ferry multiple people to those boats. Where social distancing measures apply this area of our set up falls short of government guidelines and is the main area of concern.

We appreciate that this is a strange time for everyone and we are doing are best with the information we currently have. We are however at the mercy of the government and await their guidance as such.

We will continue to update everyone and endeavour to run all courses as and when possible. In the worst eventuality all courses can and will be rescheduled once normality resumes

Naomi & I thankyou for your patience and hope that everyone can understand the severity of this situation, it is a tough spot we all find ourselves in but we look forward to seeing you on the water when the time is right.

The Royal Yachting Association have confirmed that all centres must abide by government guidelines first and foremost.

Whilst the social distancing remains at 2 meters RYA providers are not allowed to conduct training courses

Once the government changes or shifts phases to reduce this social distance rule we will be able to look at opening
